Alumilite's White also known as Amazing Casting Resin provides users with an extremely user friendly rigid urethane that has good overall physical and cosmetic properties. The low viscosity along with the white appearance makes this material ideal for users who are looking for perfect cosmetics in their castings. The material has a mixed viscosity less than 100 cps and a mix ratio of 1:1 by weight or by volume. The material features a 2.5-3 minute work time and transitions from clear to opaque white to let the user know when the pot life is expiring. Demold time typically ranges from 5 to 15 minutes depending on the mold temperature and the mass of the material being cast. We always recommend warming the mold before casting to achieve a more consistent and thorough cure.

Use Alumidust powders in combination with Alumilite casting resins or Alumisol to achieve beautiful effects in your casting project. Use Alumidust sparingly as a small amount goes a long way. Alumidust is non toxic and can be brushed into the mold or added to your casting material. To achieve the brightest look, brush the powder into a high gloss silicone rubber mold. The higher the gloss the brighter the look.

Alumilite casting is a process where the Part A & B resins are measured out by weight and mixed together. The resin mixture can then be left clear or dyes and pigments can be added. Once the resins are mixed, a molecular reaction starts and the mixture begins to generate heat. The heat that is created when resins are mixed together is known as thermosetting.

It’s very important to make sure that you follow the manufacturer’s directions for mixing resins. Once the resins, dyes and pigments are mixed, the mixture is then added to a mold. The mold either contains a casting object or the mold is shaped to suit the final project. When the addition of the resin is complete, the casting is allowed to cure.
